Subject: Need control arm help IP: Logged
Message: Ok, I have a 97 RC with 2" Western Chassis control arms and a 1" spring, Hotchkis kit in the rear. I get a little agitated with the reduced turning radius of the truck. Especially when backing up or in parking lots. I'm thinking about replacing the 2" control arm with the stock one (replace the bushing and bump stop with polyurethane ones, new ball joints and have them powder coated). My question is could I use a 3" drop spring instead and who would make one? I don't mind a harsher ride, but how harsh am I looking at? I would just use the Hotchkis spring, but the rear kit lowered my truck 4.5" instead of 3.5". Also, I've heard the springs will perform better in the corners, how true is this?
Any suggestions are appreciated.

Message: A 3" spring won't be that bad if you have lowered shocks. I recommend the Western Chassis or DJM springs both of whick I believe that you can get in 3" sizes.

Message: Thanks, I do have lowered shocks. Do you have the springs, how do they ride?
