Message: What's the point in lowering your truck? Is it for racing purposes and nothing more? It just seems like such a waste to make a Dakota look ugly and very prone to damage from the smallest potholes and speed bumps.

Message: Aside from the mistaken belief that it makes the truck look good, there are some real handling benefits.
Also, lowered vehicles help knock the tops off of speedbumps, so the rest of us don't bottom out. Next time you see a speedbump with knicks, grooves and gouges, you can thank a lowered vehicle.
