Message: A 2/3 Drop will not make you scrape unless you have a really steep driveway, even then all that will scrape is the exhaust pipe.
Hauling 3-4 hundred pounds should be ok, it will make you rear end sag and may scrape the exhaust pipe on less steeper slopes, but for street driving it will be fine.
You can always buy helper bags that go on your leaf springs, these will help with hauling heavy loads and towing trailers. Lots of truck product company's sell helper bags.
My advice would be to do it man, once you go low you'll want to go even lower, you can never be low enough.

Message: I have a 2000 dodge dakota reg cab. I have a 2/3 drop that I got
from Ebay. I have had zero problems. It rides a little stiffer but
thats it. I also run 20s and have never scraped or rubbed or
anything. So I also recommend it as well.

Message: i got a 2/3 on mine, i used a dropkit from www.djmsuspension.com it uses control arms in the front and blocks in the back.only downside to this kit is you cant use the stock 15's or your wheel will rub on the control arm. i had 20's on mine too but the tires rubbed, then again i had a 275/45/20 so it ended up being 29.7 inches in diameter. but like everyones saying once you go low you'll never be low enough. i want to drop my truck completely now, not that im going to do it, too expensive and not what i need for a daily driver, but i lowerings diffently the way to go
