Subject: lower and handle ?s IP: Logged
Message: i got not money for my truck. and if i did it would go to the motor. so im lookin to lower my truck and get it to handle. its a 99 standard cab with a 5.2. got some motor work and it handles pretty good as it is. i bought the truck recently and dont exactly know what it has. i think it is just a leveling kit cuz in the rear it has some blocks. i was thkin about cutting or heating up the springs in the front to lower it. but what would that do for handleing? and what other way can i lower the rear for cheap?
i know for handleing i probly have to get sway bars right? what eles can i do?
ultimatly i want this truck to be drift worthy. it has the 17" r/t rims if that matters.

Message: NOOOOOO!!! What ever you do, do not ever heat or cut your springs no matter what!!! It will completely throw off every bit of handeling. If You want to lower your front go with drop spindles. A cheap way to lower the back is blocks. Keep in mind, anytime you mess with stock suspension no matter how you do it, it always affects the ride in some way or another. Depending on how you do it will determine how much of an affect it will have.
