Subject: 2/3 drop advice/pictures????
IP: Logged

Message:
Does a 2 inch front, 3 inch rear drop really make that big of a difference? I want to lower my truck without giving up too much ride quality and money. Any pictures of a 2/3 drop? Any advice about what company has the best kit for the best price.

I have a 97 dakota club cab with a 3/4 drop and it made more of difference than I expected. You will notice the difference with the 2/3 drop. Mine handles like a dream, though I c-notched the rear to give more clearance for the suspension. My axle was smackin the bumpstops, which I also replaced with pancake ones, which is not good for the frame. Sorry, no pics at this time, but you won't be disappointed with a 2/3 drop, but if you want it to be a nice level you should think about the 3/4 chassis tech drop with coils in front and schackles and hangers in the rear.

oh yeah, you will also need new shocks to go along with the lowering. I use ground force shocks which have handled the nasty roads here in Wisconsin pretty well.

There is a 3/4 drop kit on ebay made by spring tech for $249 that included the shocks. Have you ever heard anything about this company and does this seem like a good price?

Thanks for the advice I'm a newB with lots of questions

Yes, that's a pretty good price. I paid about $250 for my kit without shocks. I have not heard much about that company. What comes in the kit to lower your truck? The kit will probably be alright, but the shocks you might want to look at closely. They could be cheap ones considering the price of the kit. Let me know what happens.

Go with Hotchkis. You will pay a little more but when put mine on I noticed a huge differince in handeling and it gave it a really sporty stance and it's really easy to put on.

I have 2/3 on my 02 with 20's and it makes the stance perfect.
