Subject: 4WD lowering options IP: Logged
Message: I need to lower my '00 4WD Club cab Dakota so my elderly father can get in & out more easily. Just a few inches will be enough. Where can I find info on lowering a 4X4?
Thanks
Bill

black 4x4 lowered.
-torsions in the front with wheel alignment.
-3-4 inch two drive lowering leaf springs in the back. Also if you want it lower, use lowershackles with lowering springs.
Good luck.

Message: I was able to get it 3 or 4 inches in the front. If I would go any lower I would not be able to get my front camber and toe adjusted. So you don't wear out tires. If you drop it with torsions you will have to get it adjusted by a tire shop, but make sure to tell then to adjust it with the torsion bars the way they are. A shop readjusted my torsion bars to make there life easier and then they foudn out why they were adjusted like that when they lowered the truck to the ground. The front end was really high and the back was really low. Then I made then fix there f**k up. I have not had any tire wear problems though. Except from burning the rear ones off..lol.
