I have heard that there is a problem in dropping the 1990 dakotas if there is, is there any way to get around it???

You shouldn't have any problems lowering a Gen I dak. If you encounter a problem, it is going to be which kit to use, and how much do you want to spend. You can go the airbag route, which will run you around $1000-$1200, or you can swap out suspension componets which can cast you anwhere from $150-$600. The oly problem is, or in my case is how much do you want to spend, and how extrem do you want to get. Some companies to look at are Western CHassis, Belltech, and DJM. I'd stay away from aim when it comes to suspension parts if I were you. Other than that, do some research, and see what you come up with.

thanks alot i have read in a mini truckin mag that F.B.I is selling a kit for 1000 would this work on my dak or not?

I'm sure it would work, but that is a lot of money, I've spent a total of $550, on my 4/6 Drop. I got the western chassis, 2/4 kit ($375 shipping) 4 toxic shocks ($150 shipping), 2' drop coils and 2 inch lowering blocks from aim ( 150 shipping). I don't reconmend using aime, for your front springs. I'm not sure how mine are gonna turn out, but if they don't look right, I'll try to sell them cheap, if not, I'll throw them away, and get the spings from western chassis. All in all, I don't think you should spend more than $600 for a kit, unless you are baggin your ride. That's just my opinion.

That's a great price for bags than, as for phontom grilles, I got Billet inserts from AIM, they actually look nice as hell (I couldn't believe it either AIM Good Products really) but I don't know if a Phantom grille was ever made for our Trucks. I think you may have to fabrocate one from the Cheby ones or Ford ones, sorry. You might want to try ZMotive though, never hurts to look.
