they definitely will. i have 22's with a 2/4 drop and they don't rub at all. i have a 265/35/22 which is probly the best size to go with because the tires are almost the exact same height as stock. you could even go with a 265/30/22 which are smaller but those will put a big hole in your wallet.

I have yet to see a set of 22's for a dakota that look good.
I'm getting Lexani to custom make me some, off-set for tucking and my bolt pattern. 5K, :o(

what about getting the lug adapter, i am determined to put some dub 22" floaters on my dak, i wanted to put some davins on it but when i called the company they told me that they might beable to make a 6 lug pattern but i would have to put 24's on my truck, and for once i said no. i found a site that listed the name brands and rims that fill fit a dak.... http://www.wheelfinders.com/your_wheels.php?select=Dakota-2WD&year=2002&offset=Mid/Low&wheel_size=20.

sure, big deal i could fit 24s on my dak if i really wanted to......
the point that most of us are concerned about is tucking our
wheels...... to get the most amount of travel with out rub and
because it looks sexy if we drop it to lay frame
