If you drop your ride, what happens to the ride? What can you do to make the ride smoother? Trucks are known for horrible rides becuase of the hard springs. Can this be fixed without affecting handling and whatnot? I know a lot about motors, but I know almost nothing about suspension. Help me out!

rear lowering with blocks or hangers/shackles will not affect ride since you have not changed the springs at all.. unless you are bottoming out after lowering then of course *that* will affect your ride :)

front lowering with spindles also does not affect ride at all since you are using the stock springs and alignment and geometry.. if you cut a coil or so off your front springs to lower then you will make the spring stiffer - I estimate about 15-20% hardly noticeable

my opinion is the truck handled SO MUCH better after lowering 2 front / 3 rear, and more importantly was *way* more stable and rolled less when in corners. in reality it was much safer to drive.

a modest 1.5-2 inch drop in front, whether by cutting 1-1.25 coil *or* by buying "2 inch drop" springs will be slighty stiffer (not objectionable IMO) but the overall better behaving nature of the truck will more than make up for any slightly stiffer ride

What about if you changed the springs?
