Anyone own the Hotchkis suspension system? It looks pretty sweet, if anyone has it and can comment that would be great! Thanks!

I have the TVS kit on my 99 R/T CC and I wish I hadn't waited so long to get it. The only bad part is the ride is a lot stiffer, but it's worth it. Handling and cornering are alot better, plus it looks nice too.

Have had it on my RT for 92k miles--- Stiff ride, good looks-- and handling the rival anything on the road.

I sell a ton of them (but be forwarned, some of the stuff takes time to get-- they sell out as quickly as they make 'em!)--- I had 4 kits in stock on hand, sold them-- and still trying to get more!

DOH!

I installed the kit on mine and I love the stance and handling but, like the others said, the ride is quite stiff. It can get a bit tiresome on long rides.

I also seem to be fighting a neverending battle with squeaks and rattles out of the back end.

Would I recommend it? If you want the low ride and improved handling and don't mind getting a little beat up, then yes.

If you just want the low ride then I'd say go with a kit that uses the stock springs.

'02 Sport 4.7 auto, Gibson exhaust, homebrew K&N cold air, 275/60 BFG Radial T/A's, Infinity CD w/Pioneer & Infinity spkrs & Kenwood powered sub.

I'm looking at getting the tvs too, and to one of the comments, I have a never ending rear area sqeak too, on my stock suspension, its driving ME CraZY!! I know its from the stock rubber spring bushing...
If I were you, I'd check to make sure you;re not grinding on a bushing, maybe somehting isn't tight enough,

anyway, yeah, the TVS is a bit tough to find in stock, everytime I have the money, it's not in stock, and then when it is, I don't have the money. I hate backorders, and forget too much, so I never do the preorder thing... I'm prolly gonna break down and just do it so I can get the damned thing. thnaks for your info!

Hey, Sam, from SOcaldakota, I have a follow up, to my previous post, if you're "listening"...
I'm using a higher tire, on my R/T, a 275/60 R17, and was wondering if you'd know off hand if I'd have any clearance problems, mainly on bump, and turning radius..

Does the Hotchkis make the Dakota handle better than a C5 Corvette? Like the advertisement states? How low does the Hotchkis put a V6 regular cab?

You'll be able to run with one on the twisties-- if it's a tight section, you'll be on his butt with the guy going "WTF? How is that truck keeping up with me?" V6 RC--- Well, have you seen the Red RC Dakota on Hotchkis' ads?? That's Gary Pinkley's RC Dakota-- (formally a 3.9L 5 spd)-- and in that config... he kicked a lot of V8 muscle cars 'asses' @ Hollywood Park, Santa Anita Park, etc-- during Auto-X events. Checkout the videos on my website to see what it'll make your truck do.

Matt-- that's a 30" tall tire, and won't work on a truck that's lowered... Maximum tire height for the front-- 28", VERY max for the rear is 29"... 255-55-17 = 28" front/rear... I run a 27" front and 29" rear (got 18s, and 4.56 gears so I needed something to help with the rpms on long drives).

Best thing on the kit-- is order it when you got the $$$, I am trying my best to keep them in stock--- but when you sell a ton of them, they are that popular-- makes it's tough for the manufacturer to keep up. It's worth the wait!

I'd like to put some 20's or even 22's on my dakota once it's lowered. Is there any way to create enough clearance? Or does it all depend on what tire I use?

Keep the tire height in the 28" height or less, and keep the offset close to what an RT rim runs... and you'll be fine.

MANY people run RT-20" and other brands without issue.

I'm still worried about my tires rubbing. Does anyone know an acceptable tire width?
