i want to lower my dak but have no idea what to get. just wanted help on deciding. i have heard good things about all these companies but don't really know what the differnce is between them. i was looking for a 3/5 drop and what components would be best. WEstern chassis and djm have a- arms and belltech doesn't is there a difference?
the thing that worries me the most is ride quality. Some one help please.

first od all i have that djm lowering kit. i love it except for one thing, it increases the turning radius (ie, no more u-turns), but provides a more stock ride. personally i would go with coils if i were only to do a 2" drop.

a arms definately increase the turning radius,
but for the ride, its worth the sacrifice.

both companies are pretty much the same...I
have pics of the my DJM 3-6 drop, 3" a arms
and 5" shackle hangers, with 1" block:

If you want a smooth ride, go with lower a-
arms, if you want handling, go with coils.

i was looking into the DJM kit for my R/T (2/3 drop) i dont know about the other kits for dakota's but DJM offers the R/T kit with either 2" coils or 2" control arms, so you have a choice. i will be going with the coils just for the turning radius issue.

so your not going to get arms because of the turning radius issue eh? well go ahead and get coils and ride like a sports car....smash smash smash over every bump, gets annoying.

just letting you know that they both have drawbacks. arms alow a more stock ride. your demon.

well i have a few friends with the drop coils and to me they ride fine. maybe i will get my friend to order in both and give them a try as he owns a spring shop, then i can decide myself.

I don't see the first thing wrong with riding like a sports car. that's just me. (i have DJM 3" A arms) the turning radius thing... i freaking HATE it. i'm going back up, and coming back down with the hotchkiss 2/3. and as far as ride goes.. nothing says u can't pick and choose whatever springs will give u the desired ride height and spring rate. don't like the ride? change it

now your talking about spring rate, which in itself is highly advanced. just for my info, who do you know will be able to adjust the spring rate?

DJM-- BEWARE!!! Just had a guy return his truck to stock height because the DJM arms goudged the inside of his RT wheels-- To the point that they are shaved on the inside. Not to mention, but the alignment was completely whacked and could not be corrected. What a joke.

He's now gone to Hotchkis like me. Anyone need 1" blocks and/or DJM arms/rear shakle relocators, email me and I'll put you in touch with him.

Different suspensions-- Bags
Western Chassis (good ride quality, some tire rubbing, handling about the same as stock)
Hotchkis (stiff/sometime hard ride quality, some tire rubbing w/CC, nil w/RC, handling-- HA-- Give me a harness please, you'll find out how much crap you have hidden under your seats in the first turn you make!!! Sticks like dried road kill is right!!! I've give rides to 8 different Dakota owners who were thinking of lowering their trucks-- 7 bought Hotchkis, 1 is trying to save for it.

too bad hotchkis only has a 2/4 drop ;-( i sopose you could use the front spring with the 2" western A-arms, and leafsprings with the 3" hangers. ;-)
