Message: my question is, that if I get hotchkis 2"
lowering springs (1" on RT) can I use the
stock shock length. Also does the RT use the
same shocks as any other dakota 2X4. I'm
new at this , I have a 99 R/T, thanks for the
help.

Message: I just put the hotchkis kit on my 99 R/T and I changed all four shocks to hotchkis/bilstein. I tried the stock ones for about two weeks and bottomed out going over any little bump. I had 84000 miles on my stock shocks when I put the hotchkis kit on.

Message: well. the reason I ask is that I can get a great
deal on the bilstein shocks (stock 2X4 length,
but not the lowering one's) and woundered if
they would work ok on only an inch lowering.

Message: Even if you can get a good deal is it worth risking if the new shocks are for the stock height. I personally wouldn't waste the time or money getting something that isn't designed for the specific application.
