Subject: Going low on 20's need help IP: Logged
Message: Hey guys,
I have done some searchs and found nothing on this one some help would be appreciated.
I currently have a 98 2wd cc lifted body and sus. with 32" tires. It is time for something new so I want to go down now on 20"s. I dont want to go real low just take up the space alittle from stock height. I am looking at 20x9 VCT-Gitano G-9's they dont list the backspacing but they say they fit a dakota. Will these fit with a 1 or 2" drop in the front and a 2 or 3" in the back?
Thanks for the help in advance.
Chris
P.S. I have lift stuff for sale if anyone is interested.

Message: you can get a 3/5 drop but if you dont want to go too low i dont think you'll like it because the tires will rub on every bump and when you turn even remotely sharp...best bet is a 2/4, thats what i have and it rides well and looks good

Message: Thanks for the reply that is the info I was looking for. So I should be able to run these wheels and drop the truck with a 2/4 lift without rubbing.
Thanks
Chris

Message: do some thimkin on it first. ie. measure twice cut once. what is the diameter of the tire and then add 2" unless you can tuck. (skinnier wheel) then take the measurement from the center of your hub to you fender and that should let you know if you can go 2/4 or 3/5. but alot of guys are runnin 20's on lifted kota's. their was one by my work on about 31-33 and 20's and trhe truck looked sweet, but then again so did she. it might have been the fact that she was driving a sweet truck but hey I'm partial. now 2" will give you enough for most bumps but if your goin down your no longer lifted and you won't be able to baja the truck over speed bumps so you'll need to look ahead or you'll send out major sparks and your buddy behind you will think you blew up your truck. personal exp.
