Subject: Alignmment Problem...HELP!!! IP: Logged
Message: I have a problem..I put 2 inch drop A-arms on my 99 Dakota which already had 3 inch drop coils on the front..i took it in to get it aligned and they told me that they weren’t able to align it...what should I do? I don’t want to have to take the A-arms back off but I don’t really know what other choices I have...please..any Ideas would be a great help

Message: Do one of two things, one: put a one and a half inch coil spacer on top of the springs, to provide a bit of lift. or two: have your frame slotted to the max so they can pull the arms out to acheive the correct camber. It will cost you about $150 bux for them to do it for you.

Message: Take it to another shop. A good shop would have given you some options on how to get the specs right, like the above suggestion. Or, they would have offered to get it 'close' (likely doing the toe and caster to specs) It's the camber that's the issue, right?

Message: yes it is the camber that they cannot get set correctly..I live in a small town and the shop that did it complained the whole time about having to do it so i fugred that there was some way to fix it but they just didnt feel like doing it..I had thought that it might be better to take it to another shop but did not know where exactly to take it and if it really could be fixed..i am going to college in columbus ohio so there are alot of places up here to take it..where would you suggest that i take it? thanks for the information guys

Message: Not being from Ohio, I wouldn't know who to recomend. Try a Pep Boys or other chain store who might see lowered vehicles on a regular basis and have some experience with them.
Having the camber specs.out is not as big of a deal as you might think. It's toe that affects wear the most.
