Message: Yeah, your rear end isn't exactly where it should be. You may need to slap a panhard bar on it.

Message: actually they came like that from the dealer (the 2000 and up it seems) do a search and you will find many topics on the problem.
a panhard bar will not do a bit of good, unless you have a 4-link, wich you dont

Message: there were people talking about it on this site a while back. the trucks came from the factory like that.
most dealers say "its within specs" and some say the bed is not centered.
take it to the dealer and tell them to FIX IT! they might say you installed the drop kit wrong, but that is a bunch of crap, because there is only one way to put it in.
its dodges fault

Not just vehicles with 4 links have panhard bars. Camaros and others have them and I thought that it may work here.

Message: I have a 2000 R/T and when I dropped mine 4/6 with Western Chassis, I didn't have a problem at all. Make sure that your axle is on the pins in the leaf springs. Also, check the Chassis Teh parts, they are very low quality and could be off that far. A buddy of mine ordered a set of S-10 control arms from Chassis Tech and one of the control arms was assembled incorrectly and when he finally got a good set, one broke and left him stranded. If you want a good kit use items from DJM, Western Chassis or Bell Tech.

Message: Dave, camaro's have trailing arms, with coil springs (so do taho's and suburbans) . thats why they have panhard bars. its kinda the same setup as a 4-link
all a panhard bar does is keep the axle from swaying back and forth (which im sure you already know) the F-bodys dont have anything going from the axle back (like a leafspring does) so the axle will sway without a panhard bar
on any vehicle with leafsprings, you have the support of the leafsprings connecting from the front and the rear of the axle. its not going anywhere.
his bed is probably off alignment. he wouldnt be the first

Message: thanks for all the help, i know for a fact that its not needing a pan hard bar! but the reason i went with chassie tech was my frind got a drop for his rt, from djm and had a hard time alining it so i thought well ill just get one from c.t. but it kit looks fine to me, thats what i dont get! i dident even take the leafs lose from the axel, and dident noticie it before! is their an easy way of fixing this! out their, with out having to re do the brackets to the axel or what? thanks, and sorry guys dont have a camaro! lol

Message: My 01 cc also looks this way stock. Forgive my ignorance I just found this site and am venturing into it for the first time, but..."kota on 20's" what exactly can I have my dealer do to fix this axle alignment issue? It seems as if the only way to correct it would be to cut and reweld the perches. Is that what you ment by "FIX IT"? Just curious as I want to walk in as informed and intellegent as possible.
I was probably lied to then when they originally told me it was part of the "traction controll" set-up on the vehicle. HMMMMM....what do I know...this is my first CHRYSLER product ever.

Message: Jeff, dakotas dont have traction controll. most likely the bed is off center. the bottom line is SOMETHING IS WRONG! go and find a truck on the lot that has the axle centered and tell the dealer that you want your truck to look like that no matter what it takes.
ask the guy if he thinks DC intentionally made the truck with one tire sticking out more on one side than the other?
