Message: I've got a 2002 Quad Cab Sport Plus and I just
finished lowering it to "R/T" height for about
$200. This is what I used:
Front: 2001 R/T Club Cab front coils that I cut
1" short of 1/2 a coil, netting a 2" front drop.
($75 ebay) I cut my factory bump stops about
3/8" above the metal part. (free)
Rear: Western Chassis 2" drop rear shakle
hangers. They netted a 1 3/4" rear drop. ($70)
I used Hotchkis rear bump stops. ($24 pr.)
I'm running 17x9 R/T wheels and 255/60/17
Toyo's.....It looks sweet, like a Quad Cab R/T.
In fact, my Quad sits at the same height as a
stock R/T, although my truck is a bit lower
overall 'cause my tires are 1" taller in diameter
(29.1" vs. 28") than a stock R/T w/55 series
tires.
Using the rear shakle hangers allowed me to
keep my factory load and towing rating, which
is important if you want to use your truck as a
truck.
I originally thought a complete R/T
suspension was the way to go, but I'm glad I
kept my factory rear leafs. Oh well, food for
thought.
Later,
Lemmers
