I run goodyear eagle gtII 275/45/20 on my 20x9 rims.only rubs a lil in the front..big bumps..cheapest 20" tire you can buy too..i believe

275/35/20 is what all the R/T guys run on their hotchkis drops. Thats only a 2/3 drop for a regular dakota. They look good in that size.

Checkout tirerack.com and discounttiredirect.com for prices. Just type in that tire size and it will give you the different tires. The BFGs and the Nittos in a 275/35/20 are great tires.

Yeah it would fit. I wouldn't go much smaller though. The 275/35/20s are gonna look the best, just a lil pricey. You would be allright with 255/35/20s though, just not as wide. Just remember, the 35 is the sidewall height, which means that the sidewall height is 35% of the width which is 275. With the 255s the sidewall is gonna be smaller.

Here's the tire sizes converted to inches:
275/35/20= 28x10.83x20
255/35/20= 27x10.04x20

hrmm you musta used a tire calculator that rounded those numbers
275/35/20 = 27.6" tall
255/35/20 = almost 27" tall exactly
and for comparision sakes
255/50/20 is a huge tire. a tad over 30" tall, 275/45/20 wouldnt help much, as they are only .3" shorter overall, .15" per sidewall as they tires he has now.
