Subject: Need help choosing the right drop kit IP: Logged
Message: I have a 2001 R/T CC and I want to lower it again. I used to have a 2/2 drop on it, but it rode horrible. I had 2 inch belltech springs in the front and 2 inch blocks in the back and toxic shocks on the front and back as well. The back rode so rough that I hated driving my truck. Now it rides alot better, but I hate the stock look. Can anyone give me any good suggestions for a good 2/2 or 2/3 drop? I need something that will make my truck ride atleast as good as factory or even better.
Thanks

Message: Hey I have a 01 r/t cc and I put a DJM drop kit on it 2/3. The kit came with new 2" control arms for the front and 2" hangers and a 1" block for the rear. After the kit was installed I pulled the 1" block out of the rear because my axle would hit the bump stop on the frame. Know that I have the block removed the truck rides 100% better but try to avoid carrying anything in the back. The ride is a little stiff but not far from stock. I like the kit and I don't know anything about the Hotchkis kit but I have been told that it is pretty good. Sorry that is all the info I have for you. Any more questions I would love to help. Graham

Message: try your 2/2 drop without the toxic shocks...i heard those suck ass...if your stock shock wont work i would go with a bilstein or tokiko shock...you'll get a much better ride.

Message: Yeah I tried it with the stock shocks for a while and then I added the Toxic shocks. They helped the front, but I think they actually made the rear worse. I don't reccomend the toxics to anyone looking. I talked to John at southeast R/T and he told me to go with Hotchkis rear leafs and hotchkis front coils and Bilstein shocks on the front and rear. He said to stay away from block kits. He knows quite a bit so I am gonna go with his suggestion. He said it will ride atleast as good as stock and I will have no bottoming out or bumpiness.
