On my 90 the short side was front. These turned out to be incorrect blocks for my truck . They f'd with the pinion angle. Thanks Trailmaster. I had to get straight blocks.

It's always tall side front, because when you drop the axle a couple inches, you have to angle it back up to keep the driveline stright and free.

Who ever said that it's small side front has no clue. Unless s10s are all jacked up.

But to answer the question, it's tall side front. I have them on mine.

sh*t, reeally sorry for posting wrong info, but i got it backwards (i can never remember without lookin, which i just did).
THE TALL PART OF THE BLOCKS GOES TOWARD THE BACK
good info for u too Matt, if u have em backwards. u dont have to aim the axle up when u drop it; u have to aim it down, because the axle doesn't go anywhere, the front (tranny) lowers, so u have to aim the axle down.
So, short side front; tall side rear...trust me...peace

Damn, you're right. I just went and checked, and it is tall side backwards.

I forgot, it's not the rear that drops. In fact, the blocks raise the real axle in relation to the frame/tranny, so you have to angle the rear differential back down towards the tranny.

At least someone caught my mistake :-P

lol phew ok good thing i checked this. so the small about 2" part to the front, 3" part to the back? seeing that it starts with 2" and ends with 3" will it effect the actual lowering height by making it less of a drop because the entire block isnt 3" ? thanks i guess, if your right ;)

Whoa! That has to be an exageration. If there is that much diff. between the ft. and back of your block you are in for SERIOUS trouble. The diff. should only be about a 1/4" ft. to back. You must be kidding...

What are you talking about? These are angled blocks. They are supposed to be like that so you can keep the correct pinion angle. It's probably not a full inch difference, but he was just saying that for clairity.

On my 4" blocks, it's close to an inch difference between the front of the block and the back. This cuts out the need for pinion shimms.

I have 4 inch angles that have 7/8 inch difference, so yeah, it is probably right!

Even on a 3" block ther is no way that you need an inch in difference. Did you measure the pinion angle before putting the blocks in? Didn't think so.

OK, he was saying that to make things clear. They aren't really an inch difference.

So just settle down everyone.

Not meaning to start a big war. Just saying... You can never tell the persons' demeanor on these posts, it's all good fun until someone takes something said too seriously.
1 or 2 degrees will fix most pinion angle issues, unless you are flipping the whole axle, but then you can address the angle when you weld the spring perches on.
