Message: Lowered 2 inches up front with coils.
R/t rims are rubbing the sway bar on tight turns, Just on left turns i think. Now that im running my 15x8 winter rims, the problem persists. if not worse.
The bumpstops also need to be replaced, they are cracked and standing at half mast since the drop when i had to cut them down. When i torch these things off, how many mounting holes will i be left with 2? 1?
And finally what bumpstop through energy suspension would be best to run?

Message: i don't see how you are having this problem. i have 3inch coils up front with 235/75/15s and have no problems. i even used my friends 20s for a weekend to go to a show and had no problems. you must be running way too wide of a tire. i suggest 245/45/17 up front. screw the bump stops, take them out.if you have good shocks you won't need the bumpstops. i don't and i never bottom out.

Message: I cant figure it out either, Im running the stock R/T rim AND tire setup. The wheel weights were moved into the wheel after the first time I complained it was doing this. The sway bar is centered but the out lip of the wheel is what is contacting the bar. Its annoying. Id bring it in but you know what a hassle that is, being without a vehicle for a day. I dont understand why I am the only one having this problem. I cut the stops as recommended and its a generic coil set up. Frustrating

Message: sounds like the same thing mine did when i first dropped it: when u drop the front using coils, the lower control arm comes up more, and pushes the sway bar end links(that attach the sway bar to the arms) up; this puts the sway bar at a different angle than stock, and causes it to rub/scrape the inside of the rim when u turn all the way to either side(i couldn't make u turns when mine did this.)
theres really not an easy way to fix it except: (1)take the sway bar off (this is what i had to do)
or (2) the problem goes away with 18" or bigger rims (i'm kinda surprised u had the problem with the 17s, but i guess just cuz they're wide). with the bigger diameter wheels, the sway bar just kinda goes inside the wheel instead of along that inner edge. when i got my 18s, i put the sway bar back on and i have no problems...(and DAMN u really appreciate what that sway bar does once u take it off and put it back on!
Hope this helps...peace

Message: Thanks. Shortening the sway bar links could be done if i weld them well. When i first got the truck, i painted alot of under carriage items since they were going to rust, the sway bar was one of them. I drove it to work one day while it hung to dry in the garage. Talk about diving into corners! you could really ragdoll yourself if your not careful. Well, disappointing that i didn't forsee this problem, but I guess its on to plan B.
