which would be better to drop the front of my truck two inches; 2" drop coil springs or 2" drop lower control arms? Can you do just the springs?

Control arms would be better. It retains the stock ride quality. But you could do just springs if you want to save cash and don't mind a little bit of a bouncy ride. With a 2" drop you don't absolutely have to have to new shocks but when the ones you have on there give out put some drop shocks on.

I agree that control arms are better. They are also a pain to put in. On my full size chevy I put just drop coils and it doesnt ride that bad, just take it easy on country roads. I think if you want the look for just about no money get coils.
