Message: Navy Dak,
These are used in the sports car world to tune the suspension. Their is a ring that is threaded on the strut tube and adjusts up and down on the shock to make ajustments for differnat track conditions and handling combo's. I have mostly seem them used on cars with Mcphearson(sp?) struts. Hope that this helps you out.

Message: So could you possibly use these instead of drop coils to lower the front about 1.5"?

Message: Navy Dak,
From what I can see it appears that you could do that. But may be a PITA to adjust the collar on the shock since it appears to be inside the spring. This is where the height change would happen. Carrera does make high quality equipment for the sports car world. I would give them a call for the particulars on your specific install.
