Message: You seem to be knowledgeable about rim/tire setups, I have a question for ya.
OK, I just bought a set of Boyd Stingrays 18x8, 6.5" backspacing. My current tire setup is 215/75/15. I am thinking of doing 255/40/18 in the front and 255/45/18 in the back. Do you think I will have any rubbing issues? I currntly have a 5/5 drop soon to be 5/7. Thanks for any input.

Message: you should be fine. if you have any rubbing at all it will probably be the front tire rubbing on the plastic inner fender well, and the front lip.
mine does it, but its no big deal. just be carefull when going in and out of driveways.
if you dont have a problem with your stock tires, you should be fine with the low-pro's
let me know what happends

Message: with a 7" drop in the rear, you might want to go with a 40 series tire also, or you might rub the fender lip in the rear.
by doing that, you can also rotate the tires and make them last a little longer.

Message: hey low dak.. i don't know how u feel about modding the body, but if you're real close to your fenders you can roll the lip back underneath to give you a little more side to side clearance. won't help you if your backspacing puts the tire outside of the fender at all though.. LOL... reminds me of that time i saw a.. damn what was it.. like a taurus or something with like 12" rims sticking way out.. his car was bouncing on the freeway and i could smell the tires cutting in half.. LOL.. man i need sleep
