Message:
i have a djm 2/3 control arms and blocks drop kit on my 99 dakota v6. every time i go over a big bump, my front tires hit the fender wall and the edges get all chewed up. im destroying my bad ass tires. obviously the bump stops djm gave me werent even close to big enough so i propped them up with washers until i couldnt go any higher using those bump stops and it still rubs. PLEASE SOMEONE HELP!!!

get energy suspension bump stops. The tallest ones they make. I think its like 2.75" or so. Use those. They take a lil bit to make them fit around the sway bar bolt but it should pretty much stop your problem. Did you change ur shocks when you droped it? If you didnt put drop shocks on that would also help. Or stiffer drop shocks if you did. Late

thats odd, cause i have 275/45/20 and lowered 2/3 w/ the stock bumpstops and it hardly ever rubs, takes a big bump and a lot of speed too. oh did u change ur shocks?? cause thats probably the reason ur rubbing

i didnt change the shocks, but the ride right now is great. i dont want a stiffer ride. the bump stops i have on my truck are not stock. they came with the control arms from djm. u think the longer bump stops will work?

Go to www.summitracing.com for the bump stops. I was running a 3/5 drop on the stock 16's witch is a HUGE tire. I think it was a 255/65/16. I know it was a 29" tall tire. I also have the fender flares which i cut a bit out where the tire was hitting it and bent the inner fender lip up a bit. Try the bumpstops 1st, they are like 10 bux or sumtin like that and then you should be fine. With the drop shocks my ride was great. It was pretty much teh same as stock. I was hitting on my truck before i did both the bump stops and the fender flair/inner fender mods to the truck. Then i had no rubbing with a bigger tire and a lower drop than your running. Hope that helps, later

Nobody has asked him about the offset of the wheels. That'll do it!

ENS-9-9143G Type that in the product number search. They are actualy 23 bux. They will be long enough, but if they are too long you can trim them also. But those should work. Worked on my truck. Id rather pay 23 bux to get a bump stop than pay 1000+ for new wheels. But he is right, if your wheels have more backspacing you will not rub as much. Later bro

OK fellas...

I've been trying to get this question answered for a month or so now to no avail. I lowered my 4x4 Durango 3"s and am having the same problem as the person who started this thread. Where the heck can I get shorter shocks that will work on a lowered 4x4? Please help me out.

Thanks,
TCalYen

Go to www.stylinconcepts.com or www.godfathercustoms.com I believe they both carry that lowering kit and would have the shocks to match it. Late
