 Subject: rear gear & axle questions

does anyone what the rear end specs are for a 02 dakota 3.9l 2wd? axle size? spline count? is it a 8.25 or 9.25 axle? what type of differential? i know i have 3.55 gear but that is about all i know. i am looking to put one of those powertrack no-slip's in my truck. if anyone has any good input that may help me please let me know.

Here's an easy way. How many bolts are there on your diff cover? If 12, then it's 9.25. If 10, then it's 8.25.
Then it should also say on like glove box, door and other places. But I like the number of bolts method.
