Subject: Smokindakota 2 is bagged!
IP: Logged

Message:
Finally bagged my 00 club cab this weekend. Used the stock front control arms and relocated the stock shocks. Didn't loose any turning radius and it drives 5 times better than stock. In the rear, I 2 linked it. I cut out the front leaf spring hangers and moved them forward and up, so they are not hanging below the frame. Notch is 8" so I can lay 20's in the future. Right now I have some stock wheels with 225/60/15's. It lays frame and rails nicely. Just gotta get some 20's now.

Hey i was wondering what did you do to the front to still use the stock control arms. Where did you get the bag mounts for the front? I'm looking to bag my truck soon and want to use the stock control arms as well. For the back, what did you do with the exaust? Well thanks for the help. Can't wait to see pictures.

The front I just made cups out of some 4" ID pipe. However, I would recommend at least 5" ID pipe. The bottom cups need to be angled so the bags sit properly. I just put a turndown on my flowmaster before the axle. I'll try to get some pics this weekend. Can't find the battery charger for my digi cam.

Ok this might sound stupid but when you say ID, you mean inner diameter? And how tall did you make the the cups? Well thanks for the help.

Yes, ID is inner diameter. I used the standard 2" lowers and 3" upper cups. I will try to have some pics up tommorow.

lookin good for damn sure! u must get crazy lift with that 2 link! can u hit side-to-side? did u have to do anything to the gas tank?
it's lookin real good, but i GOTTA see what u end up doin to it to beat the original smokindakota!! and i'm sure you've heard me say this before other places, but i gotta say again, the exterior AND interior really inspired me with my truck! (i like the green better than the red :) good luck with all the work on the new one! keep it up!... and down... and up... hehehe
peace

Brad - Parts, tires, metal came out to around $1600. I fabricated all the parts and some buddys help me dissasemle and reassemble.

UFDakota- It does get some lift with the 2 link, almost to stock height in the rear. I haven't even hit a side, but with 2 links aren't the best for hitting sides unless you make them articulating. I don't know what I am going to do to make this one better than the last one. I want to bodydrop it, but it's my daily dragger. I'll keep you guys updated.

I am not too familiar with a 2 link, how did your install? Weld on or bolt on? I have to do my rear really soon, im not going to notch but I want to go as low as I can. Where did you get the 2 link? And what was the cost?
