Subject: speedo calibration IP: Logged
Message: OK, I just bought a set of Boyd Stingrays 18x8, 6.5" backspacing. My current tire setup is 215/75/15. I am thinking of doing 245/40/18, but according to some charts I've seen my speedo will be 7.1% too fast. I played around with the numbers until I came to a 4.9% variation(too fast). That was with a 265/40/18. Two question:
Will I have rubbing issues(currently a 5/5 drop, soon to be 5/7)?
Is there anyway to recalibrate your speedo to get it right on agin?
Thanks for any/all replies.

with the rubbing... i really don't know. as long as there is enough backspacing. if you need to cut the lip from under the wheelwell.

Message: Yeah, I made sure on the backspacing, I got enough so I can tuck when I bag it. By rubbing I meant more of driving over bumps and stuff because it's pretty bad now (but I also have a BIG sidewall) I think it will be ok though....

Message: Thanks for the link. I'll see how much I'm off after I get the tires mounted, then I'll probably pick one of those up.
