Subject: Is this a good way to measure for drop?

Right now I have a 97 regular cab with the V6. I'm looking into the DJM 3/5 kit(3" arms and 5" shackles/hangers) I measured the gap from the top of my wheels to the bottom of the fenders, and stock it has a 5" gap in the front and a 7" gap in the back. Does this mean that with the 3/5 drop the gap will go down to 2" all around? Just wanted to see if this is a good way to measure for the drop before I spend the money and send for the parts.

If you get the exact 3" 5" drop that is how it will be.
