Subject: Drop springs, or drop A-arms, or both? IP: Logged
Message: I am woking on an 81 Ram 150 (older big brother to the Dakota)
I am wanting to lower the front by about 2" and no more than 3".
Will just a pair of 2" lowering springs work, or will I also need lowered A-arms?
I have previously had a 91 that was lowered 4", and this was done by the original owner (he just cut the coil springs) this truck rode like crap, and when you went to full turn, it looked like the wheels were going to pull off the rims. It was scary.
So in recap, I want to drop 2", no one makes a kit for an 81 Ram, and I want it to be safe.
What do i need to do?
Thanks.

Message: Just go with the Coils for only a 2" drop. I have 3" drop coils and they ride fine, a little bumpy, but handles like a dream. So save yourself about $200 and just go coils.
