Subject: Taking a leaf out??????? IP: Logged
Message: Guys,
I have 2" lowering coils up front and 4" steel pinion angled blocks in the rear of my 2003 Dak CC Stampede. The rear still appears to be slightly higher than the front and I want an extra half of an inch to 1 inch lower.
I have heard of people taking out thier bottom support leaf.Fist off How do I do this without getting killed? Ive installed blocks and U-bolts , but never tried to take apart the leafs.Do you have to take them off the hangers to relieve tension?
Secondly , will the ride deteriorate very much ?
Thanks for all opinions and comments.

Message: Thats a bit of a job there.. but in my opinion, deleting the supporter leaf isnt a good idea. I had an 87 that i took the supporter leaf out of and it leveled it out, but i couldnt carry much weight and the back end sank pretty easily when I even sat on the tailgate. I'd suggest you get a shackle/hanger drop kit and add a one inch block if you need more drop.. Its safer and it looks better... just my $.02

Message: I agree with CT. I would go with the shackle/hangers, and maybe a 1 inch drop leaf

Message: you can do like i did and get the Belltech drop leafs for about $175. You're already gonna be taking the leafs out, then you could just slide these in. More than likely you'll have to add an 1" block. I'd do this and save some trouble.
E-mail me for info.
