here a link to pics of the third brake light I made
I need opinions
I'll be putting in 15 red LEDs for brake lights
and no cargo lights(don't use it anyway).
I was going to paint it black to match the truck
for a kind of shaved look but it turned out so nice I don't know if I should,there nothing else billet on the truck so it wouldn't match .
what do you guys think

I did paint it black so all you can see is the lights when I hit the brakes.
It costed $15.00 for the LED's and $0.99 for the resisters. The alum. I had at work so that was free. It took about 2 hours to design it on the CAD trying to match the contours of the origional light and about 7 hours to make it with machining and soldiering the LED's.
I got the LED's from www.eled.com there much cheaper than Radio Shack ,$0.99 a piece compaired to $1.99 at the shack I used 15 10,000 mcd red LED's .

To get my time and money back out of them they would have to be like $130.00 a piece. It's just not worth it.
I think the same thing could be made out of thick or laminated plexigass.
then you wouldn't need all the machine tools,just a roto-zip and dremel

I could send you the cad file if your going to cnc it .
to do it manually would be hard because theres something like 20 or 30" radii in 2 places.
our cad/cam software doesn't demension so I cant send a blueprint unless I write in the sizes by hand (too much time)
