RTs are lowered 1 inch all around from the factory. so u cant do a 3/5 w/o a c-notch in the back

I have a question about this too. I have a '98 Dakota Club Cab and was wondering what to do about 20's. I want a 4/6 drop with 20's if I can. How wide can the rims be? I'm pretty sure 9.5 will work up front but will it fit in the back too?

I have a set of 20 X 9.5 niche's the scrub like hell with a 3/4 drop and That is as far as I can go without crumbling my fenders. Also running 275/45's

275/45 is a big tire on the dakota dropped that far, that's like a 30" tire right
275/35 or 255/35 would be a good size to keep the OD down
adam you got some pics of your ride with that size tire?

So 20x9.5 will fit all the way around as long as some work is done? How does it affect turning up front. Is the rubbing and scraping worth it?

Right now I have the factory 16x8s on mine with a 2 & 4 drop. The tires are factory 255/65/16s and have a diameter of 29.04 inches.When you cut the front tires to the left or right you can see that you cant even get your fingers between the tire and the inner fender lining. If you go to a 20x9 with the 275/45/20 tires it will increase your diameter to 29.75 which will be all over the fender lining when turning.Now add a bumpy turn and your in for some trouble.I want the 20s bad , but am not willing to pay $300+ a tire for the 35 series low profiles. Im going with 17 inch Chrome RTs and a 255/50/17 that will lower the truck 1.75 inches all the way around.
I just couldnt deal with the scrapping and worrying of damaging my stuff ever time I drove the truck.

I would be willing to cut out my fenders and do some other cutting if necessary. I understand where you are coming from with the worrying. I wouldn't want to tear my stuff apart either.
