Subject: 2/3 or 3/5 drop IP: Logged
Message: I'm researching into dropping my '03 3.9L Dak a little because those huge gaps in my wheel wells are a killer. What are some common to major problems with 3/5 drops as opposed to 2/3s? Are there any pictures I could see with both drops? Finally, what are some good companies to look for to purchase kits? Thanks everyone.

Message: Here's a 1999 Dakota R/T with a 3/4 drop. Has 3" control arms and 5" hangers/shackles. Actually, its a 4/5 drop from a regular Dakota Sport/SLT/SXT because the R/T's come with 1" drop coils and 1" leaf springs. However, I don't reccommend 3" control arms, you lose your turning and it sucks.

Message: i have a '99 dak sport with a djm 2/3 lowering kit. i have control arms in the front and blocks in the back. even the 2/3 hits the bump stops in the back and the wheels hit the fender walls in the front. i would definitely not go with the 3/5. companies? i went with djm and they usually make good products.

Message: ive got a 2/3 on my r/t 2". djm arms up front, and 3" hangers out back. the ride is horrendous. it sits on the bump stops in back, so every rock is felt, and the 275/50 nittos up front like to eat my fender flares so much, they ate right through them, and are now eating the metal fenders themselves. even cuts the sidewall of the tire if i hit a big enough bump. i kinda wanna put it back to stock just because im sick of having a limo's turning radius, and my back hurts because im always bouncing up and down.
after i lowered it, my girlfriend outlawed road head in my truck, saying it would kill her.

Message: pete, your problems sound more like a prob with the shocks.
what are you running? run some good shocks like bilsteins and it may take care of it
if you use the cheap drop shocks the ride will suck more

Message: hah, actually i run stock shocks.. lmao, theyre obviously shot, rear shocks wouldnt do much good since there is no room for travel, but i did buy some el cheapo front shocks, theyre sitting in the back of the truck.
