Subject: no shackles IP: Logged
Message: what if i removed shackle at rear of leaf spring and then mounted spring rite on frame.
thats about 2 inche drop.

Message: Don't you think the million of companies and not to mention dealerships would have already thought of this one to save on money. I mean, why would GM put these pieces on trucks if they didn't really need them. I don't think they meant for the leafs to bolt from hanger to hanger without a shackle to allow for flexing/movement.

Message: DONT DO IT!!! The spring changes length when sprung. The shackle pivots letting the spring shorten and or lengthen on bumps.
