In last octobers issue of street trucks there was a dakota that was slammed on air. This guy used his air conditioning compressor to air up the suspension. If any one has any info on how to do this it would be greatly appreciated.

thanks
Jay

i think your referring to a engine driven air compressor. the 4x4 guys have been using them to power their auxilary items for a while.

actually, u can use the stock a/c compressor for air suspension. i don't know anyone personally with it tho, so i don't know much about it. i think you'd have to give up having a/c tho :).
but at a show there was a black BADASS!!! dakota there shaved, bagged and bodydropped, tweeded...etc. he used his a/c compressor, said it worked great, dont know how much of a biitch it'd be tho. Peace

All you have to do is get some cutom lines made from the stock ac lines, put an oiler before the compressor, and a drier after to catch the oil. Run the clutch off your presure switch and your set. the stock dakota ac compressor can fill a 9 gallon tank to 200 psi in about 30 seconds. Not bad huh? Downsides are it strains the motor alot and you lose your ac. I used to have this setup. I am now running 2 viair 450s do to the florida heat and needing ac.
