Subject: R/T question... IP: Logged
Message: I just dropped my R/T in the front but trying to figure out how much to drop it in the back? I cut one coil off my stock springs and cut the bump stops off (sitting perfect in front now), how can I figure out which blocks I'll need for the rear? Also, haven't ridden her on the street yet but can anyone tell me if stock shocks will work? 99 RC R/T Thanks.

Message: Dan- That's exactly what I did on mine and I have a 3 1/2" block in the rear custom made by my machinist. The truck sits perfectly level...

Message: Support the rear axle and suspenion, now unbolt the u-bolts and let the jack down so the suspension falls. You will see that they go atop the leaf. Trust me, you can't put them on wrong.

Message: you could put them in backwards...LOL just make sure that the tallest part of the block is to the back of the truck or else you'll f*ck up your driveshaft.

Message: Yeah but most blocks I have seen aren't even angled, they are straight so there would be no way to screw it up. Back in the day they didn't even have angled blocks so I had to buy pinion shims.

Message: Good point. For me though it was impractical my angles would have been just enough off to really go through those U joints :( haha so I had my machinist put a half inch rake on them. worked out great!
