Subject: sway bar endlink ?
IP: Logged

Message:
Hi, I lowered my truck 3" up front using Western Chassis 2" control arms and 1" spring. When I put it on the ground i noticed that the endlinks that attach to the sway bar are sitting in a akward position. They are leaning forward and in/out(cannot remember offhand), for those that have lowered your dak, is this normal? does it affect the performance or steering?

Also when i lowered it, i now notice when i try to do a u-turn (steering wheel locked all the way, I rub really bad on the wheel (actually wheel weight). Thanks for any help

What do you mean awkward position?

I know the endlinks well. They were cross threaded when I switched out my sway bar. A b!tch to remove. Anyway..

Since you lowered your vehicle, the end links are going to look a bit different. If you are still using the stock sway bar and endlinks, your suspension geometry has changed. For everyday driving, I doubt you'll be able to tell. Hell, a lot of the 4x4 guys remove the sway bar and endlinks completely.

When you corner hard, do you notice any strange body roll or under/over steer?

They aren't really "end links" so we can't go out and get new ones from Energy Suspension for 15 bucks like Rustangs can. Ours are one of a kind. Joy.

What is rubbing against the wheel? The endlink?

Awkward meaning not vertical like when it was stock, it is leaning. The actually rim is rubbing the swaybar not the endlink, so when ever i lock it to the left my wheel weight rubs and gives a popping sound as I drive(caused by the weights).
