If anyone has removed or modified their inner fenders, do you have any pictures? I am getting ready to do mine, am I kinda want something as a reference, instead of just hacking away, lol.

Any pics and advice would be greatly appreciated!

I have removed the front driver splash guard if that's what you're thinking. Had to remove it to take my driver's quarter off.

Why would you want to remove it. It's only held in by tabs. You wont get that much more clearance.

Not just the plastic piece, I am removing the metal too, to allow for clearance to lay the truck on the frame. I am most likely going to fabricate new "sheilds" for the engine compartment out of aluminium, I am just curious of how others are doing it.

Ahh, ok. I see what you doing now. Duh.

The passenger side would be pretty easy. There really isn't much to it on that side. Get an open element filter and it'll help even more.

The drivers side however, will be a pain. There is a lot of brake/abs/computer stuff over there. You'll need to find a place for all that crap. I remember un bolting a bunch of stuff over there.

If you relocate your battery, it will give you a lot more room to play with. I don't believe there is much slack in those system though. Best way, would be to mount them where the Battery tray currently is. Woudln't look like a mess in there.

You possibly could mount them on the side of your new fabbed fender. I wouldn't want my computer that close to the manifolds though.

It's a bunch of work. Not a small project. You will most likely be splicing and doing a bunch of rerouting.

If anyone has a pic, the 4.7L in particular, I would like to see this too.

Right now I have the huge ass stock 16's (they are 28.5" tall" and they always hit the fenders if I drive low. I can't lay frame because they hit the inner fenders.

I need to roll the lips of my fenders, or cut them out.

I have a set of R/T rims on the way, I want to put 245/45/17 on front and 275/40/17 on the rear, they are both about 25.5" tall.

275/40/17 will fit up front. No rubbing at all.

If it's not too late, i'd really suggest NOT going with the RT rims! They're pretty damn wide and their offset wont let you tuck. that's why RTs come with the flares. They MIGHT camber in enough to tuck up front, BUT you'd have to shorten the axle to tuck in back, or MAYBE pull out the fenders.
It'd be ALOT easier to just get other narrower 17s so u wouldn't need to worry about anything. hope this helps. Peace
