I've got a bagged Dakota. I want to lay cross-member and can't without drop arms or spindles. My bags won't fit inside drop arms w/o rubbing and they would have to be modified too much to be safe. I've heard that s-10 spindles will work on a dakota. Does anyone know anything about that?
If so, please e-mail me @ ccPresident@aol.com & visit my site: www.CreativeConceptsCC.com

If you have a 1996 or older Dak, you can get drop spindles for it....most companies make them. If you have a 1997 or newer, you can use the stock control arms with up to 18" wheels by notching where the control arm where it hits the frame. As far as lowered control arms, you can cap the top of the control arm off and drill a hole and mount the bag directly to the arm...check out my truck at this site, there are some good pics.

Hey Glen, thanks for the reply... it's a '97. I checked out your pics. Looks very good. That is the stance that I want to have in the front end. Did you fabricate your own arms or buy them? If you bought them, would you mind e-mailig me and letting me know where and how much? Or if you have any other tips on how to modify my arms, that's great.

Thanks, Kyle ccPresident@aol.com

well Kyle... after trying to use my stockers, I have to put a set of bag cups on the bottom arm or the bag will wanna rub against the arm(bad!). Not much but maybe a 1" cup or so Also with 18" rims, the swaybar will hit the frame before I lay, thats just a little notching... no big deal. Right now, I got a friend down the street that has a set of s-10 cups from suicidedoors.com that looks like it should work. I'll let you know how it goes by this weekend. If not, just like Glenn said, I'll probably cap off a set of drop arms from my first drop and drill into that. BTW this is for a set of 2500 bags

Glenn... thats a massive cut into the pocket for the bigger bags. Have you notice any flex from your V-8? I was worried about it so I went with a 2500

What does it take to lay crossmember on 18's? Can i use any 18's or do they have to be the 6 3/4" backspacing..... What size tires could i run (biggest possible). I dont want to cut out any fenders right now, i will cut out little bits of the lips, but not etire fenders... I have the 3" djm arms on the front. I have figured out alot of the bagging, but i need to know mostly about tires and rims and if anything will come into contact. I will lay fram but i want to start on crossmember. If anyone can help me it would be greatly appreciated.
Thanx guys

BlackDak20... on mine, i have 18's w/ 35 series tires.. (i'm the one wondering about how to lay crossmember.) I am 1.75" away from the ground in the front and with the right camber, i should be able to lay with the 18's

Pappie1... thanks, that's what i figured, i'd have to do, but i was trying to save money. i saw that the swaybar looked like it might be a problem (that's ok, i love to cut on stuff). i checked out your truck (very nice). i'm going to e-mail you info about trading links to our club web pages.

Thanks again.

I haven't noticed any weird problems with the amount I had to cut. I am going to go back to stock control arms so I can get my turning radius back and align the truck better. I had DJM control arms and they limit the turning, add bumpsteer and align horribly
