Subject: 1 to 1.5" rear drop IP: Logged
Message: I am looking to lower my 00 2wd Dak 1 to 1.5" and I am wondering what is the best way to do it? I have seen lowering blocks but am worried about axle hop etc. Maybe with only a 1" block that isn't so much of a problem? Now I come across a rear shackle kit on e-bay and wonder if this is the way to go?
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&category=33586&item=2420198850
Would I need anything else besides this kit?

Message: 1" blocks shouldnt ride too rough. If u went with 2" or 3", it might ride rough then. I'm pretty sure 1" blocks wont though..
As for the hangers on ebay, those should give u a 1" to 1.5" drop. Hangers ride alot better than blocks but they tend to lean on turns (my 3" hangers did). But if i was gonna choose between the two, I'd go with the blocks because they are usually cheaper and easier to install. Unless those hangers go for under $50, i'd get the blocks. Hope this helped,

Message: you also have to think of how much work is involoved to install those hangers, just for a 1 or 1.5 i dont think it would be worth it. not that its something you couldnt install, but hangers are a PITA. if you dont know what im talking about, go out to your truck and look at where the gas tank is located...

Message: Putting the hangers on is a PITA, that is why I am selling them on Ebay.
I put the 2" drop hangers on, went to do the front hangers and looked at the gas tank. I decided to lower it 2" more with the blocks instead.

Message: I have 1" lowering blocks in the rear right now and it rides exactly the same as stock. it still sits a tad higher in the back but looks a lot better than stock.
