i about to install the 3/5 DJM drop on my 97 reg cab 5.2L. can i survive a few weeks with the stock shocks? thanks

did you cut the bump stops? I think you should be fine, fronts might be pushing it but the frame will stop the axle way before it's anywhere near bottoming the shock.

You will be fine I have been running my truck with that drop and stock shocks for 5 years now. Still using the stock front bump stop but replaced the rear with a stubby one.

The shock wont be working to its full potential since it's working in a more confined range of movement. I ran my stock shocks with my truck for like 2 weeks and it wasn't bad at all. Bumps and everything. I was a little easier to bottom out, but it's nothing that's a strict requirement.
