i bought used shackles and hangers for my 98 reg cab dakota, so i just finished sanding, priming and painting them red (even if u dont see them unless ur under the truck) my leaf springs are just pure orange rust. alot of daks ive seen have nice black ones. do they get aftermarket leafs that are just new or is there a way to sand and paint these without having the paint chip? thanks

theres this stuff you can pick up at the hardware store that comes in jelly form, i cant remember but i think its called naval jelly, it removes rust nicely. why are you painting these anyways? show? you cant even see them!

theres also this company Por15 that makes a damn good paint thats wear and road resistant. I've used it for headers and after 4 years... it still hasn't flaked of worn off.
