I spend $265 on leafs and they don't even use poly bushings, thats kind of lame
I didn't put them on yet I hope the handling is good . I would hate to think I paid for a name.
I obviously didn't pay for quality bushings.

all my hotchkis has poly bushings... how long ago did you get them? I know they are poly for sure, don't think they ever used rubber... did you get them from Hotchkis directly?

I got them 4 days ago from summit, I'm sure they didn't change the bushings. I'm very sure that they are rubber they are soft and dull like rubber. I put in new cont. arm bushings from ener.susp.,and beltech front bump stops both were poly. and had the same firmness and gloss. Even the bumpstops from Hotch. were glossy and firmer than the spring bushings.

But anyway,I got the springs in. It took 2 hours, pretty easy and staight forward. I used two plates first(STOCK U-BOTS WERE NOT LONG ENOUGH FOR 4 PLATES) and got 3.250" drop, drove it and hit the bump stops on pretty good bump so I shaved .500" off the bump stops and took out another plate for a 3" drop. All the plates( 4 )would have been a 3.750" drop!
I have a 2.900" wheel well gap in front and a 3.500" w w gap in the rear and it looks quite level. I have not bottomed or rubbed tires yet and have hit some pretty good bumps.

I'm very satisfied with leafs handling is great, I can take a 40mph corner at 65 and truck is as flat as a board.
There is no drop in the back when taking off, just straight forward . They would be great for drag racing, all transfered weight would be planted to the tires instantly.---- no lag time for the suspension slack to be taken up = less tire spin = better 60' times.

THESE SPRINGS ARE NOT FOR LUXURY CRUISES THEY ARE QUITE STIFF. On a heavier CC truck or one with a hard cover or cap they would probley be a little less harsh .

BTW ,my truck is a RC 99 sport 3.9v6 2" beltech coils and 3" leafs with 28" diameter X 11" section width BFG tires on stock wheels and have never rubbed a wheel well or fender.----for those of you who wonder what size tire will fit.

The spring eye bushings on the Htochkis leafs are not poly bushings. Currently, there is no poly bushing made to fit the Dakota leafs(without slight modification)

I know there are no poly bushings for the stock leafs, but I am sure Hotchkis uses all poly. I think they are even made by Energy Suspension, but I am not for certain.

I had the 4 plates and roadmaster suspension, so mine were actualy too low in the back. Now I am only running two plates in the rear and it's only a very slight rake. Four is too many.

28" is the R/T tire height and will work fine, but stock 2WD 29" you will need to curl the fenders some or your tires will be cut to pieces. I have some pictures on my Dodge truck world page if you want to see what'll happen. It sucks.

You'll really like the leafs. I have drug mine through snow, muck, and mud. I have pulled vehicles and carried heavy loads with it. The leafs still work like day one. They are only 10 months old now, but I expect a lot of life out of them.
