Subject: Dual rear exit exhaust - V6 - 2/3 drop

I have a 99 V6 CC with dual rear exiting exhaust. I recently received a bonus at work and plan to FINALLY get the 2/3 drop I've wanted. (see link above to get an idea of what I'm dealing with)

Based on turing radius alone, I believe I'll be going with 2" springs in the front....as for the rear...there's the big question. I like the stock ride...but with dual rear exiting exhaust, will are there pros/cons of choosing either dearched leafs or shackles/hangers?? Can I think about getting a swaybar??

I am simply buying the parts and having a shop do the work...so any good advice is welcome. My inner tie-rods and ball joints are bad.....so I plan to get them replaced at the same time (Moog ball joints and eurathane bushings)

i had to saw my $400 custom exhaust to pieces because it wouldnt clear the axel after i lowered it 2/3... be careful. stock ride = go with hangers. youre gonna need new bumpstops as mine rides on them without any weight in the bed.

I have standard pipes (not SS...xcept for the tips) so the whole deal cost me less than $200.

I realize hangers will be closer to stock ride...but will leaves or hanger be less of a problem for the exhaust.....or does it matter? I really could go with either hangers or leaves...I just want to know which will present the least problems.

by the way pete.....do you still have a dual rear exit exhaust? Would it work at all.....or did you have to have it exit elsewhere?

My roll pan has two holes in it...so I don't want to change that...it's one of the things I like best about my dakota.
