Subject: 2/3 even? IP: Logged
Message: will a 2/3 drop on a v6 dakota with coils and blocks sit even? or do i need a 2/4? i have a 1" block in the back right now and it sits slightly higher, but i would rather it be like that than sit lower in the back.

Message: i have a 2/3 on my 99 dak. i dont have pics yet, but my truck looks good in the way of being level. it sits a little higher in the back, but i like it like that. plus, if the back is any lower, you would have to modify your headlights so that you wouldnt be blinding everyone.

Message: I have a 2/4 inch drop and my back end sits level. the only bad part is i hit my bump stops alot. cuz i have a bed cover that weighs about 150 lbs. i took it off cuz i was moving. and the back raised about an inch more and stop hitting the bump stops.

Message: i have a 99 r/t and she sits pretty even, slightly higher in the back. any more i think it would look like the back is unproportionatley low because of the body lines.
heres a link to a picture. did it with arms and hangars

Message: Just installed my Hotchkis TVS (I have a 2001 Quad Cab). Looks great and drives even better. I have had it on for two days and have never rubbed wheels (265/60R17's) or hit bump stops (the back stops were replaced but have yet to do the front stops - the fronts look like there going to be a bitch to get off, the rivets being recessed as they are). I actually rubbed those tires before the lowering, I'm afraid to get the alignment done now.
The truck rides more like a sports car now than a truck, a little rougher but with a lot less travel and a lot better all around conering and control. The wheels fill out the wheel wells the way I felt they should, and in that respect the truck appears level.
BUT (there is always a BUT), I do not know why but the rear looks like it should be a "little" bit higher. It might be the lines of the truck, the fact that I have a ARE "Z" Series Cap on the back (wieght and looks), I am too used to the old look, or what ever - but it does look a bit low. I will live with it for a while and see if it looks better over time all by itself (maybe it is just me, like I said with a close inspection the truck IS level, but further away....) . In the time being though, is there a way (a cheap way) that the rear hieght can be "mildly" adjusted? Lowering looks as easy as blocks - but lifting might be a little more involved.
Any help or past experience would be appreciated. While I'm at it, is there a easy way to remove those front bump stops???? Are they easy to drill out (I have a hand grinder that would have made the whole job easy but those damm rivets are recessed!). Thanks in advance.
