Subject: Gen II drop questions / pinion angle? IP: Logged
Message: What i've got: 92 dak sport, reg cab, short bed.
quest 1: what is the best brand for lowering a gen II? and why isnt Belltech mentioned more in this forum?
quest 2: i'm thinking of droping it 2/3 or 2/4, so i'm wondering which will sit level? i can't go out and measure right now cause the body is off the frame.
quest 3: what about pinion angle? i'm putting in a 8 3/4 rear so i need to cut and weld the spring perches anyway and adjust pinion angle, so how does lowering affect pinion angle?
thanks.

Message: What's, I'm lowering my 87 4/6, and I used two companies. I used AIM for the front drop coils, and 2' blocks, and I used Western Chasis for the drop spindle, and rear hangers. As for the best company. They all are good, I think it all depends on how much you are willing to spend. I'm in the Military, and money is tight, so I had to go with the best products I could find for the money I had to spend. I used Aim, and Sporttruckdirect. I believe Bell Tech is a great company, they are just really expensive, especially for Dodges. When it all comes down to it, you have to decide what you are gonna be happy with. THe reason I got the AIM blocks if cuz they already had the pinion angle built into them. I don't know much about that, but I do know you will need to compensate for it. Hope I've been of some help to you.

Message: I put an 8 3/4 in my '92 RC/SWB. I used a Chassis Engineering 4-link kit and I set the pinion about negative 4 degrees and haven't looked back since. Everything seems to be ok with no loud howling noises and no mysterious vibrations. Later.
