Subject: BEST 3/5 drop with 20's IP: Logged
Message: OK, i want to lower my 98 5.2 5spd 4x2 Sport. I am planning on putting 20's on it also around the same time as i do the drop, but i also need to be able to put the stock rims and tires on for the winter. Money really isn't that big of a problem cause just going off what i have read, i was gonna do the "Pro" drop from stylin concepts, but if anyone has advice, or their opinions on what the best way to do a 3/5 drop is it would be nice, cause im clueless, alot harder than slapping coilovers on my Eclipse GST, thats for sure
Thanks

Message: I would go with the "pro drop" from stylin concepts except order each piece seperate. Thats what i did when i orderd it because it was cheaper than buying the kit. You get the same exact thing but its like 50 bux less. Make sure taht you runn a smaller than like 28.5" tall tire on your 20's orelse you will rub. You can make it so you dont that often but you will. I run with my stock 16's. You will also loose alot of steering this way, but on the control arms you there is a piece that stops the spindle from turning (this is what limits the steering) you can grind some out of that to regain steering, but not too much because when i am in full lock either way my tire rubs the inner fenderwell. Springs will keep your sterring (if you have the right size tire) but i personaly dont think they ride as well. You get used to the steering after a few weeks also.

Message: NO, WITH THE 3" LOWERED CONTROL ARM YOU USE YOUR FACTORY COIL SPRING. YOU VIRTUALLY RETAIN YOUR STOCK RIDE QUALITY BUT JUST MOVE THE PERCH WHERE THE SPRING SETS DOWN. MY WHEELS AWRE A 5.5" BACKSPACING AND THEY SIT PERFECT ON THE TRUCK. YES, THE 35 SERIES RUBBER IS A LITTLE SMALL BUT IT LOOK SWEET. EMAIL ME AND I WILL SEND TO PICS OUT TO ANYONE WHO WANTS TO SEE. ALSO LET ME KNOW ABOUT WHEELS, I WILL REFER YOU TO THE PLACE I GOT MINE. BEST PRICING I HAVE FOUND ANYWHERE.
