I've had my 98 reg cab truck lowered 3/5 for about 2 years now and am now starting to experience some transmision problems (slow shifting). Should I have trimmed an inch or two off the driveshaft when I lowered the truck?

dont listen to him, its not the real ufdakota, as he doesnt have a pic or signiture, what do u mean by trim a driveshaft?? how about a carbon fiber driveshaft, il sell u one for 1499.00, it will help your problem, also wieghs 35 lbs less then the stock one which will greatly increase performance

LMAO!!! Hey... really it is me. I'm just back at home for summer, and on my mom's computer, so i don't have the links to what i usually put at the ends of my posts easily accessable. it is me, but good lookin out :)
but i wasnt BSing before tho; i've seriously never heard of having to do that. dropping it doesn't change the distance b/t the tranny and axle. plus, any issues with dropping it would really only affect the u-joint(pinion angle); it wouldn't do anything to the tranny.
lol, that's funny; seriously good lookin out tho; guess i better keep posting my sig! :)
Peace
-Dan

you shouldnt need to trim the driveshaft. Slow shifting would be caused by poor line pressure conditions from either the governor pressure solenoid or the ssv sensor in the rear of the tailshaft on the tranny... the later is easy and cheap to replace... the first one.. about $180 and you have to dig into the tranny to get to it.
