Subject: Airline Freeze Up? IP: Logged
Message: I have a 97 Dakota Club that's roughly 2 1/2" from the ground (crossmember). I have to deal with snow for half the year as I live in Alberta, Canada, eh. I want an adjustable ride hieght to deal with the winters here (took my front bumper out sliding into a curb). I have been researching air bags for the past couple of years but have yet to find the answer to a question that really concerns me. I'm worried about vapor getting into the system and freezing, and because the bag companies are offering water seperators with their compressors now, I don't think I'm the only one. I'm pretty sure semi's use an anti-freeze system but I can't find any info on this. If someone knows anything that could help me, I'd appreciate it.

Message: Glolow, I have had the same question for a couple of years but still have not found answer. It is interesting that after market manufacturers are including these separators when they told me a year ago I didn't need them!
To answer part of your question, all OEM air systems have some kind of water removal system. Visit a big rig or bus repair facility, suspension if they specialize, and talk to them about what's available.
If you come up with solution, please let me know as I am finally getting my system together now and would like to include that. My e-mail is saveoldcars@hotmail.com
