Well we torched the shackles and hangers off no problem. But it seems the front rivetts are press fitted and they wont come out. THere is limitted space so its hard to get in there with a drill. Just wanna know how you guys did it. We were thinking heat the rivetts up with a torch and knock them out. Just wanna know what you think. DOnt wanna fry any electrical wires.

Thanks,
RYan

I centerpunched mine right in the middle and then drilled them thru with about a 1/4" drill bit then hit them with the air chizel punch and knocked them out , Took me about 1/2 hour to do both sides

Well i got them to go with an air chisel. the ones by the gas tank where hard. It looks so sweet now! Made custom bumpstops for the front too, so no more tire sliceing! Thanks for the advice guys!

ronnyt its gonna be nearly impossible to do it by drilling them out. some spots its really hard to get the drill in. Bare mininum i say try using a grinder to take off the rivett heads if you dont have access to a torch. Its gonna be extremly hard to drill the holes. I couldnt figure out how some people did it and to drill the holes straight is a whole diferent story. I used an air chisel to pop them off after that and it was even a bit difficult with it but after awhile they all budjed. Id start off by jacking the rear end up and setting jack stands underneith the frame about a foot infront of the front hanger on both sides. Take off the wheels. If ya have any questions let me know

first off ronny.. no offence but if you need to ask where to jack up your truck.... might want someone else to do it for you.

Also for drilling..... it's easyer if you use a air drill due to size compare to a electric drill. Also cut some of the shaft of the drill helps with room too. DONT CUT TO THE FLUTES!!!! just some of the chuck area. As for dilling center, its easer if you drill with a pilot drill(smaller) then step it up. This helps two folds
A. Its easier to drill straight and you can manhandle it a little easier
B. the BIG A$$ drill bit cost alot more than the smaller ones. SO you won't waist soo much money if your burn the bits up

how i did my shackles...

took off the bed (uneeded but give you room)
jack it up by the rearend, blocked the front, put jackstands under the frame, lower the rear end, undid the leaf springs. i drill as much out of the rivets as possible, just to cut down on cutting time. used an angle grinder till the rivets were flat.
as to getting the rivets out, pound those mofo's with a 5 lbs sledge! did wonders for me!! came right out, no prob!
